Our Committee
We hold our AGM around Easter every year, if you'd like to get on the committee then simply come along and run for a position.

Finn Mansfield (he/him)
Club Captain
Finn is the Club captain this year. He has had a successful year so far, racing cyclocross in the winter and road/track in the summer. Finn is keen to keep the club thriving over the next year with some exciting plans coming up.

Josh Acton
Vice-Captain Road
After getting into cycling during the pandemic, Josh switched from rowing at school to cycling as soon as I got to Bristol. Now in his second year of uni he’s looking forward to making sure the road side of the club runs smoothly, leading club rides and organising events and trips, and indulging in his love of route planning.

Nick Edwards
Vice-Captain MTB
Nick loves mountain biking, He’s from nearly the Peak District and his favourite mid ride snack is a banana or Jaffa cakes.

Jon Marriott
Kit Secretary
After a year of organising the clubs kit, Jon has moved onto handling the finances. With cash to splash all members can look forward to a cracking year of cheap events and approved expenses – hopefully without putting the club into financial ruin. Look out for Jon on his outrageous AliExpress road bike or on his recent attempts at becoming a gravel warrior. Message him any questions to do with club payments and expenses.

Josh Clough
Secretary
As the club secretary, Josh will be adding admin to his (non-existant) palmarès this year. A self-diagnosed caf addict he spends as much in cafs whilst out on rides as possible and maintains the optimum caf to ride ratio is at least 1. He’s a regular attendee at socials and is always up for a refreshing post-ride beverage.

Evan Davies
Foundation Captain
Evan is the club’s foundation captain for this year and is here to get even more people pedalling the dirt, gravel and tarmac around Bristol. Being as keen for a social as a climb up the Col de la Marintan, Evan will ensure that new riders get introduced to all aspects of UOBCC. If you’re unsure how to get into cycling or just need a hand finding where to ride, feel free to get in touch.

Martha Berry (she/her)
Women's Captain
Martha loves to get out of the city on her bike and her favourite hill near here is Blackwell. Her role is to help women feel more included in the club and run women specific events such as pot lucks and maintenance evenings. Drop her a message if you have any suggestions for activities! 🙂

Katie Helsby (she/her)
Equality and Welfare Captain
Katie is equality and diversity officer for this year and is keen to get anyone and everyone into cycling. Her aim is to get more international students into the club after studying for a year abroad.

Charles Harris
Race Organiser
As both Race Organiser and Cafe Ride Captain, Charles will be making sure people are either whacking it up Belmont at the hill climb, or cruising on down to the caf. Partnered with the expert in cafes within the South West and Wales, Joe Gilbody, this year is sure to give UOBCC members the opportunity to sample some of the best cakes and coffees available.

William Champluvier
Social Secretary
Will started cross country mountain biking in 2016, but moved to enduro fairly soon after when he realised that wearing lycra was a questionable lifestyle choice. The things he prefers about mountain biking are sending big jumps and using chairlifts instead of pedalling. He equally enjoys the club socials and finds it hard to say no to a night out, which has made getting a 1st an elusive prospect. Feel free to message him for any socials related questions.

Ben Woodland (he/him)
Social Secretary
Hi, I’m Ben I’m social sec this year. I can’t wait to get as many people involved in cycling and our club as possible both new cyclist and veterans of many years on two wheels. Make sure to come along to our weekly socials for some great chats and I look forward to seeing you in September!
If you’ve got any questions about cycling or the club send me a message, I’m always happy to have a chat.

Will Sewell
Media Secretary
Will is fresh and a little pudgy after a year of skiing and wine drinking in the French Alps. Forever relying on his residual fitness from a previous life as a rower, he is excited to tackle his new role as Social Media Secretary as well as North Somerset’s trails now that his gravel bike has been returned to him from the warm homes of Mssrs Pritchard and Brocklehurst. He will, soon enough, get everyone some nicer headshots for the new website!

Jacob Vink
Cyclocross Captain
After 2 years of ensuring the UOBCC members of the dirt persuasion have a mega time on the trails, Jacob has decided to expand his off-road horizons and venture into the cyclocross and gravel department. Expect some tasty gravel routes, cross taster sessions and an obsession for all things off-road.

Louis Glendining
Downhill Captain
I’m Louis, downhill captain for the 2022/23 year. As well as my standard BUCs downhill organisational duties it would be great to get some new faces into the mountain biking scene this year. Everyone is welcome to come and experience what is undoubtedly the best part of riding your bike – going downhill! Hopefully we can also run some more regular trips alongside our weekly rides too to get a serious gravity fix. Hope to see you all next year! Louis
